Kapai Biscuits (加拜) or Roti Kapai, is a crispy, salty, and fragrant biscuit with roots dating back to India. Back when plantation workers were being imported from India to Malaysia, the Indians could not afford proper meals, hence they carried these biscuits in their pockets with them to work.
These days, it is more typically enjoyed with a steaming cup of hot coffee, kaya, butter or even curry. Some men even like it with beer!
It’s crispiness and unique taste has made it a favorite amongst the older generation.
